TechFlow reported on July 18, according to Bloomberg, that Block Inc.'s cryptocurrency trading app Cash App plans to shut down its operations in the UK by September 15. Launched in the UK in 2018 as its first international market, Cash App's closure reflects Block's strategic shift to focus on the US market and deprioritize global expansion. Despite this shutdown, Block's other operations remain unaffected. In the first quarter of 2024, Block reported total revenue of $2.09 billion, with Cash App contributing $1.26 billion globally.
