TechFlow reported, on July 18, according to updated data from the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) official website, HKX's application for a virtual asset trading platform license was withdrawn on July 17. The company name submitted by HKX for operating a virtual asset trading platform is "hi5 (Hong Kong) Limited," with no corresponding Chinese name. OKX had initially submitted its virtual asset trading platform license application to the SFC on February 29, 2024.
As of now, the total number of withdrawn or rejected virtual asset trading platform license applicants published by the Hong Kong SFC is 12, among which one application was rejected. There are 16 applicants currently in the application process, with 11 of them treated as licensed. The number of licensed virtual asset trading platforms remains at 2.
