TechFlow reported that asset management firm Bitwise has amended its S-1 registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), aiming to list and trade a spot Ethereum (ETH) ETF on NYSE Arca. The filing dated July 3 includes a six-month fee waiver of up to $500 million but does not specify an exact listing date.
According to Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas, Bitwise submitted the revised filing ahead of the July 8 deadline, suggesting trading could potentially begin after the U.S. Independence Day holiday. SEC Chair Gary Gensler previously indicated that S-1 filings might be approved during the summer.
