TechFlow reports that LayerZero CEO Bryan Pellegrino has taken to Twitter to respond to code-related allegations, calling the claims baseless. Pellegrino stated that the code referenced by the community was published in 2022 and represents application-level security configurations, not protocol-level settings.
Even in the latest versions, applications can still override this restriction, preventing LayerZero from blocking message transmission by setting the "payload limit" to zero. Pellegrino emphasized that this is not a vulnerability but a deliberate design principle of the protocol aimed at ensuring censorship resistance on the technical layer.
