Where idealists once discussed blockchain democracy, universal basic income (UBI), and an open internet, conversations are now dominated by finance and meme coins.
In response, Vitalik Buterin said many idealistic open internet projects have made substantial progress, including Farcaster, Lens, quadratic and retroactive funding, Zupass, private ETH transfer methods, and ZK-based voting systems.
