TechFlow, on Wednesday, Nvidia (NVDA.O) shares rose 5.2%, closing at a record high of $1,224.40, surpassing $3 trillion in market capitalization and overtaking Apple Inc. (AAPL.O), which stood at $3.00 trillion. The chipmaker gained over $140 billion in market value on Wednesday alone and has seen its valuation increase by more than $100 billion on four out of the past nine trading days.
Nvidia became the first computer chip company in history to reach a $3 trillion market cap. The last time it surpassed Apple in market value was in 2002—five years before the launch of the first iPhone—when both companies were valued at less than $10 billion.
