TechFlow reports that X platform user @CryptoNakamao, who previously claimed to be a "victim of a crypto undercover agent," has issued a correction statement clarifying that Binance was indeed unaware of the browser extension in question beforehand, and that the KOL involved was not an undercover agent for Binance.
In response, Binance said: "We once again express our regret for your experience, and we appreciate your help in clarifying the misunderstanding in your previous post. As a platform, we fully understand users' expectations of us—not only to safeguard their assets on Binance, but also to help intercept malicious transactions when users encounter unforeseen incidents due to personal circumstances.
For your specific case, our security and risk management teams have conducted thorough analysis and review. While the platform already has preventive measures in place for abnormal matched trading activities, we acknowledge that our risk controls should continue to improve and evolve to detect such cases more effectively in the future. Previously, we established our 'Bug Bounty Program' with reward mechanisms to encourage community members to report potential vulnerabilities, raise awareness of potential threats, and help us identify issues earlier.
Your experience has highlighted valuable areas for further optimization and upgrades. As a token of appreciation and support during this difficult time following your asset loss, we will apply for a reward for you. Binance's security and risk team will continue investigating such incidents. We have already implemented big-data-triggered alerts combined with manual dual verification for sudden price fluctuations. We will also enhance user notifications, and are evaluating whether to increase verification frequency for browser extensions and cookie authorizations. Additional security verification steps may be added based on specific scenarios and user differences.
We also take this opportunity to remind all users to remain vigilant at all times: use clean web browsers, avoid installing any third-party extensions, and log out after each session."
