TechFlow news: Sui announced the successful deployment of its latest consensus protocol, Mysticeti, on the testnet, reducing consensus time by 80% to 390 milliseconds while maintaining high throughput. The mainnet launch is scheduled for this summer.
Mysticeti is a deep research advancement based on Byzantine Fault Tolerant (BFT) consensus mechanisms, representing a significant improvement over Narwhal-Bullshark, the consensus algorithm Sui launched on its Mainnet a year ago.
Sui's unique object-oriented architecture enables the network to process transactions differently based on transaction characteristics and the objects involved. Mysticeti is designed to maximize network bandwidth utilization, handling shared-object transactions through optimized BFT consensus to maintain high throughput.
