TechFlow News, according to Cryptoslate, Polkadot blockchain activity has surged to record levels, with active addresses hitting all-time highs for two consecutive months. Data shows that by the end of April, the network had approximately 650,000 active on-chain addresses, continuing the upward trend from March when it surpassed 605,000.
Polkadot stated this milestone represents a significant increase in activity, marking the highest monthly active account count since parachains launched in 2022. The rise in active addresses is largely attributed to Moonbeam, which accounted for over 60% of these addresses during the reported period, totaling 397,515 addresses.
In the meantime, the total number of Polkadot addresses with non-zero balances slightly declined, dropping from 6.96 million in March to 6.8 million by the end of April. Additionally, the network's total transaction volume saw a slight decrease to 11.07 million, down from 11.5 million in March.
