TechFlow news, according to The Paper, the first virtual currency fraud case involving STRK in Changzhi, Shanxi Province has been successfully cracked. Recently, Xiangyuan County Public Security Bureau's Cybersecurity Detachment received a report from a victim claiming that 40,000 STRK coins obtained through the official STRK development program had been fraudulently claimed by someone else. With support from the Changzhi Municipal Public Security Bureau's Cybersecurity Brigade, cyber police in Xiangyuan traced relevant clues and ultimately identified the suspect as Lan Mou, a native of Meizhou, Guangdong Province. On April 25, special task force officers traveled to Guangdong Province to conduct investigations. After surveillance and stakeouts, they successfully apprehended suspect Lan Mou, seizing two mobile phones and one computer at the scene.
Investigations revealed that suspect Lan Mou purchased numerous Telegram and Discord accounts to generate a large number of STRK receiving addresses. He searched for other users' submitted proof-of-work data, impersonated their identities, and submitted over 40 ECMP forms, thereby fraudulently claiming 40,000 STRK coins belonging to the victim. He transferred these coins into his own OKX wallet and subsequently exchanged them for 91,000 USDT (equivalent to more than 637,000 RMB), which he kept illegally.
Currently, criminal compulsory measures have been lawfully taken against suspect Lan Mou, and the case is under further investigation.
