TechFlow reports that the Bitcoin L2 network Stacks has initiated an upgrade named "Nakamoto," starting at Bitcoin block height 840,360. This upgrade aims to address network congestion and will be fully activated in May.
Muneeb Ali, the network's creator, stated that Stacks was originally designed to produce blocks at the same pace as Bitcoin, which led to congestion issues. This upgrade will decouple Stacks' block production schedule from Bitcoin's. "Nakamoto" introduces a new Stacks block production mechanism and updates its unique Proof of Transfer consensus algorithm.
