TechFlow reports that mobile communications service company Cape has raised $40 million in a Series B round co-led by A-star and Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from XYZ Ventures, ex/ante, Costanoa Ventures, Point72 Ventures, Forward Deployed VC, and Karman Ventures.
Cape, a startup headquartered in Washington, D.C., was founded by former Palantir executives who announced a new mobile service designed to deliver a more secure communication experience. The service will be offered on a prepaid basis, with an initial focus on providing eSIMs to users. CEO John Doyle said the company plans to launch its commercial service in June.
