TechFlow News — Australian asset management firm Monochrome has applied to global listed exchange Cboe Australia for a spot Bitcoin (BTC) exchange-traded fund (ETF). If approved, the Monochrome Bitcoin ETF will become Australia's first ETF allowing direct ownership of Bitcoin. The company has already received approval from the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX).
Monochrome CEO Jeff Yew stated that a decision from Cboe Australia is expected before mid-year. Cboe Australia is one of the exchanges under Cboe Global Markets.
