TechFlow news, according to The Block, a federal court in the Southern District of New York has sentenced Irina Dilkinska, former legal and compliance officer of OneCoin, to four years in prison and forfeiture of $111 million, along with one month of supervised release.
Dilkinska facilitated money laundering and other financial crimes for OneCoin. In one instance, she transferred $110 million in illicit OneCoin proceeds to an entity in the Cayman Islands. Records show that between the fourth quarter of 2014 and 2016, the project recruited over 3 million participants and generated nearly $4.4 billion ($4.037 billion euros) in sales revenue. Victims invested more than $4 billion in total into OneCoin. Previously, Dilkinska pleaded guilty in November 2023 to charges related to wire fraud and money laundering conspiracy. The U.S. Department of Justice described OneCoin as a global multi-level marketing scheme or "pyramid scheme."
