TechFlow news: Vitalik Buterin published a post on Warpcast titled "Supporting Decentralized Staking Through More Anti-Correlation Incentives."
The article states: "One strategy for incentivizing better decentralization within the protocol is to penalize correlation. That is, if a participant experiences a failure (including accidental ones), the more other participants who simultaneously misbehave (measured in total ETH) alongside them, the greater their penalty. This post proposes extending similar anti-correlation incentives to more 'common' failure scenarios, such as missing an attestation—something nearly every validator does occasionally."
Vitalik Buterin also stated: "Are validators within the same cluster (e.g., from the same exchange or same user) more likely to miss attestations simultaneously compared to unrelated validators? If so, can we adjust rewards to support decentralized staking? Probably yes."
