TechFlow reports that ORA, a verifiable oracle protocol, is launching its on-chain AI oracle (OAO) on the Ethereum mainnet. Although OAO was initially released on Ethereum, the oracle will go live on Optimism, Base, Polygon, and Manta in the coming weeks.
OAO adopts optimistic machine learning (opML), enabling machine learning models to be designed on-chain, albeit with slightly reduced security.
ORA's OAO already offers machine learning services including Grok, a generative AI chatbot; Stable Diffusion, a deep learning text-to-image AI model; and Meta's open-source large language model Llama2.
Kartin Wong, founder of ORA, noted that only opML enables Grok to be brought on-chain. Compared to zero-knowledge machine learning (zkML), opML can effectively deploy Grok’s 314-billion-parameter model on-chain, reducing operational costs by over 1,000,000 times.
