TechFlow news — Kenya's Interior and National Administration Minister says the country has rejected the U.S. government's request to lift the suspension on cryptocurrency project Worldcoin.
Local media outlet BusinessDailyAfrica reported that Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki informed parliament that the government will not lift the suspension imposed in August 2023 on Worldcoin activities. Professor Kindiki stated the suspension will remain in place until assurances are provided regarding the security and integrity of financial transactions.
Previous report, according to Bitcoin.com, a report suggested that Worldcoin representatives may have reached an agreement with Kenyan authorities allowing the iris-biometric cryptocurrency project to resume operations under new guidelines.
