TechFlow news: The regional finals of MATR1X FIRE Asia Masters, the first professional Web3 esports tournament co-hosted by Web3 entertainment platform MATR1X and the Global Esports Development Association (GEDA), successfully concluded for the Japan-Korea region. The final four teams were DOKDO, SEARCHFI, FR, and Boarding Bridge, with team FR emerging victorious as champions.
The Japan-Korea regional finals were livestreamed globally across four platforms—Twitter, YouTube, Bilibili, and Discord—with professional esports commentators providing live coverage in Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean. Total viewership across all platforms exceeded 60,000.
The MATR1X FIRE Asia Masters is the first professional-level esports event in Web3 history, featuring three regional divisions: Japan-Korea, Southeast Asia, and Greater China. With a total prize pool exceeding $100,000 USD, MATR1X FIRE is the first Web3 FPS mobile game, amassing over 1.2 million downloads worldwide. Co-organizer GEDA has previously managed major esports events including League of Legends, PUBG, and esports at the Asian Games.
Next weekend will see the regional finals for both the Southeast Asia and Greater China divisions. During these events, MATR1X and GEDA will launch a "Watch to Earn" campaign, offering all viewers a chance to receive token airdrops simply by watching the matches.
