TechFlow reports that the darknet marketplace Incognito Market is suspected of running an exit scam earlier this month.
Since last week, users have been unable to withdraw their Bitcoin and Monero, initially explained as a technical issue. Subsequently, a message on Incognito Market's homepage indicated that sensitive information—including private messages, transaction records, and order details—would be released, hinting at severe consequences if data were leaked to law enforcement.
It is estimated that over 500,000 order details and 862,000 cryptocurrency transaction IDs are at risk. Vendors are required to pay $100–$20,000 depending on their "tier" to protect their data, with prices set to double on April 1. Buyers may be able to delete their records within weeks.
