TechFlow news, cryptocurrency exchange OKX has integrated Uniswap Labs' application programming interface (API) into its decentralized exchange (DEX) to enable gasless transactions through a feature called "Snap".
Jason Lau, OKX's Chief Innovation Officer, said the feature allows for simpler decentralized token swaps. The integration with Uniswap enables OKX DEX to access the UniswapX protocol and connect with its liquidity.
It further explained: "By agreeing on a price and signing the transaction off-chain, then settling the transaction on-chain, users ultimately pay no gas fees, as liquidity providers will cover the fees on their behalf."
In addition to eliminating gas fees via API integration, OKX also announced that its wallet users will now be able to discover their wallets within the Uniswap interface, thanks to an upgrade in multi-injector provider discovery on Ethereum based on Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP)-6963.
