TechFlow news, cryptocurrency exchange KuCoin responded to Reddit community users reporting issues with withdrawing funds. KuCoin stated that they are actively working to resolve the problems reported on the Reddit subforum. Eden Gau, Assistant for Global PR and Brand at KuCoin, said that moderators have already reached out to users regarding all four cases posted on Reddit to help resolve their issues. A KuCoin representative added: "Please note that KuCoin does not freeze user accounts nor prohibit users from disposing of their assets. To enhance user security, KuCoin has implemented a comprehensive risk control system and voluntarily cooperates with authorities or law enforcement organizations worldwide."
Earlier on February 21, Reddit users began posting on the KuCoin subreddit about being unable to withdraw funds. One user said they had been locked out for four months and received no response despite providing requested information. Another user reported their account had been blocked for two months and received a "serious allegation" notice without further details. Other users reported having $30,000 worth of Monero (XMR) tokens frozen, along with other account freezes.
