TechFlow news, according to Bloomberg, a UK minister said the country will introduce stablecoin and other cryptocurrency-related legislation this year. Bim Afolami, Economic Secretary to the Treasury, stated that the UK government is making a "strong push" to legislate on stablecoins and crypto staking services within the next six months.
In October 2023, the Bank of England and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) announced broad plans for a coordinated approach to regulating the cryptocurrency industry.
Additionally, as reported by CoinDesk, the stablecoin regulatory timeline indicates consultations on final rules will take place in mid-2024, with the stablecoin regime expected to be implemented before 2025.
