TechFlow news: MAP Protocol, a Bitcoin interoperability layer, has announced a partnership with the Bitcoin Layer 2 network Merlin Chain to enable Bitcoin-level peer-to-peer cross-chain interoperability between various Bitcoin L2s and between different Bitcoin L2s and EVM-based ecosystems. Together, they aim to expand DeFi and non-DeFi use cases for assets, protocols, and products across the Bitcoin ecosystem, unlocking the full potential of an interoperable Bitcoin ecosystem.
As a Bitcoin L2 interoperability layer built on ZK light clients, MAP Protocol serves as a gateway for developers and users in the Bitcoin ecosystem. It will further optimize developer APIs to help application developers easily deploy solutions across all Bitcoin L2s, along with providing cross-chain interoperability tools. On the user side, it will create seamless cross-chain product components such as gasless token operations and algorithmic default chain selection, enabling users to access applications across all L2s through a single entry point via MAP Protocol. Developers can build applications that span all BTC L2s using MAP Protocol.
It is reported that over 20 applications within the MAP Protocol ecosystem—including Hiveswap, the first swap platform in the Bitcoin ecosystem; LessGas, a Bitcoin L2 inscription issuance platform dedicated to supporting low-market-cap, high-growth dApps; and STST, a marketplace for trading Layer-2 inscriptions—will join MAP Protocol in collaborating with the B² Network to explore further innovation in interoperability among Bitcoin L2s and the broader Bitcoin ecosystem.
