TechFlow reports, citing a report by blockchain analytics firm Elliptic, that blockchain gaming platform PlayDapp was hacked on February 9, resulting in the minting of 200 million PLA tokens worth $36.5 million.
Subsequently, after failed negotiations between PlayDapp and the hacker, the attacker minted another 1.59 billion PLA tokens worth $253.9 million on February 12 and began laundering the funds through cryptocurrency exchanges.
On February 13, PlayDapp announced on social media that it had suspended the PLA smart contract.
