TechFlow news: OpenAI's Sam Altman said the United Arab Emirates could become the world's testing ground for artificial intelligence technologies and subsequently lead global efforts to regulate their use—a "regulatory sandbox."
Speaking at the World Government Summit, he told the UAE's Minister of Artificial Intelligence that it is difficult to develop all regulatory ideas in a vacuum. He suggested that having a controlled environment where people can experience the future, run experiments, and determine what works, what fails, and what is appropriate seems like an interesting experiment.
