TechFlow reports that the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) will collect energy usage data from cryptocurrency miners operating in the United States.
The survey will launch next week and will require identified commercial cryptocurrency miners to provide detailed information about their energy consumption. The EIA will also solicit public comments on the collection of energy usage data from crypto miners.
The survey follows an "emergency request for data collection" from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), which operates under the Executive Office of the President of the United States.
