TechFlow news, ICON Network announced that with the launch of IISS 4.0, changes will be made to its tokenomics policy. The total number of network validators will increase from 25 to 28, and the token reward system will be revised to closely tie validators' economic incentives to their role in maintaining network security, with rewards earned through block production and voter commissions.
In addition, IISS 4.0 introduces a series of penalty measures, including penalties for missed blocks, validation failures, double-signing, and non-participation in network proposals.
ICON Network stated that it plans to complete network parameter configuration and transition to IISS4R1 (Rev25) by February 14, with the incentive and penalty mechanism scheduled for activation in May.
