Phase 2 introduces fundamental upgrades to the NEAR core protocol architecture, significantly enhancing network scalability and decentralization. A key benefit of the new sharding implementation is a 10x increase in NEAR's transaction throughput.
Previous report: The official Chinese account for NEAR stated that in 2024, the team will initiate Phase 2 of sharding, introducing stateless validation and expanding upon the original Nightshade design to eliminate the need for fraud proofs.
