TechFlow News — Amazon's MGM Studios has begun early production on a film titled "Razzlekhan," focusing on the 2016 hack of the Bitfinex exchange and the subsequent money laundering of stolen bitcoin.
The film will center on the roles played by Ilya Lichtenstein and Heather Morgan in concealing the movement of 94,643 bitcoins linked to the hack, which were worth over $3 billion at the time of their arrest in 2022.
The screenplay is adapted from a 2022 New York Times article that referred to the couple as the "Bonnie and Clyde of Bitcoin," a nickname highlighting their notorious actions.
