TechFlow reported that Horizen, a blockchain network supporting zero-knowledge proofs, announced on X that ZEN 5.0.0 will execute a mainnet network upgrade via hard fork at block #1502800 on February 7 at 20:00 Beijing time.
After the hard fork, users will no longer be able to conduct any transactions involving shielded addresses. The team advises users to move their funds out of the shielded pool before this time and not to deposit funds directly from shielded addresses into exchange wallets.
Earlier, Horizen tweeted that it has communicated with Binance and OKX to ensure they understand that ZEN is no longer a privacy coin. The plan includes completely removing the shielded pool from the Horizen main chain, specifically by disabling shielded transaction functionality, removing related RPC calls, and providing users with a migration path to move assets out of the shielded pool before the ZEND 4.2.0 hard fork in mid-February.
