Goerli fork:

Due to an open validator set and suboptimal PoS operation on the testnet, validator participation was initially expected to drop. However, as more validators came online, the network eventually achieved finality.

A bug was discovered on the Prysm network where the Historical Roots value saved every 256 epochs was incorrectly set to 0. A fix was rapidly released upon discovery.
Regarding L2 testing on Goerli:

Arbitrum indicated that testing on Goerli is challenging because most of their infrastructure is based on Sepolia.

Optimism plans to move to Goerli after several weeks of devnet testing, provided everything proceeds smoothly.
Next week's RollCall meeting will focus on L2 preparations for 4844.
Previous report: The Goerli testnet will undergo the Cancun upgrade on January 17, with Sepolia and Holesky testnets scheduled for January 30 and February 7, respectively.
