He believes AI will greatly impact both white-collar and blue-collar productivity. Gates pledged to ensure the benefits of AI rapidly reach developing countries, particularly in addressing shortages of education and healthcare resources in Africa.
While seeing the global impact of AI as positive, Gates also warned of potential misuse, emphasizing the need to ensure the most advanced AI tools are used for cyber defense and prevention of bioterrorism.
