TechFlow reports, MAP Protocol core developer JamesXYC questioned on Twitter whether the complex technologies behind Ethereum Layer 2 are truly profit-driven.
He pointed out that Satoshi Nakamoto's lightweight client technology, proposed back in 2008, already solved the issues between L1 and L2. Although MAP Protocol adopted lightweight client smart contract technology in 2021 to establish peer-to-peer interconnection with Ethereum L1, it has never claimed to be an Ethereum Layer 2.
