TechFlow news: The Korean National Tax Service has imposed a fine of 50 billion won on Wemade for its involvement in virtual currency.
Wemade announced that, according to the results of a comprehensive corporate tax audit conducted by the Central Regional Tax Office from 2019 to 2022, additional taxes amounting to 53.69 billion won (approximately 41.07 million USD) have been levied. This amount represents the total charged to Wemade and its subsidiary, Wemade Tree.
According to reports, the National Tax Service conducted a tax investigation into the issuance and use of the virtual currency WEMIX by Wemade and Wemade Tree, leading to the decision to impose additional taxes.
