TechFlow news, according to Cointelegraph, Google Trends data shows that interest in searching for artificial intelligence (AI) among Google users this year has far surpassed that of "Bitcoin" or "cryptocurrency."
Since 2020, search interest in "Bitcoin," and occasionally "cryptocurrency," had exceeded that of "artificial intelligence." However, Google data indicates a reversal began around August 2022. Searches for "AI" surged around November 2022—the same month OpenAI launched ChatGPT—and have since widened the gap over crypto-related search terms.
Currently, global search interest for "artificial intelligence" scores 91 on Google Trends, compared to Bitcoin's 22. Google assigns scores from 0 to 100 based on the proportion of searches for a given topic relative to all searches.
