TechFlow reports, zkSync Developers posted on X stating that the zkSync Era network issue stemmed from an edge case error in the operator's computation of state updates. Although the sequencer was fully operational, overly defensive measures were taken due to unnecessary safety procedures; however, no funds were at risk.
They added that once the issue is resolved, an updated version of the node software will be immediately released for other node operators to deploy. The team plans to discuss improvements to the holiday emergency response plan for the network during the upcoming new year and has apologized to affected developers and users.
Previous report, yesterday zkSync Era experienced a network issue, with speculation that it had not produced blocks for approximately two hours.
