TechFlow reports, Lido's strategic advisor Hasu wrote on X that rollups now account for 20% of Ethereum's revenue and are growing rapidly. This demonstrates the demand for "opaque modifications" that Ethereum itself cannot easily provide.
One of the biggest strategic mistakes Ethereum could make is attempting to compete as an execution layer, rather than focusing on the unique security it can offer. Ethereum's 2024–2026 roadmap primarily aims to address these issues.
In Hasu's personal view, this only shows how extremely difficult it is to get security right. No other chain has done better in these aspects without introducing centralization.
