TechFlow reports that Irys (formerly Bundlr Network), a Web3 storage solution within the Arweave ecosystem, has criticized Arweave founder Sam, accusing him of attempting to exclude its platform and acting against the original principles of building open-source and permissionless software. Irys stated in a tweet that it will continue to uphold users' right to choose where their data is stored, maintaining censorship-resistant, open-source, and permissionless technology.
For users experiencing difficulties retrieving data due to censorship on Arweave gateways, Irys welcomes them to point their applications to its hosted gateway at http://gateway.irys.xyz. Additionally, Irys said it is developing new provenance technologies, promising no disruption for current users, and will roll out more powerful new features in the future.
Previously, Arweave founder Sam claimed that Irys was considering forking Arweave, ceasing maintenance of the dataset, and resetting the token supply, stating that the only possible motive behind such a fork could be greed.
