TechFlow news, according to Reuters, cryptocurrency exchange KuCoin has agreed to pay $22 million to settle a lawsuit filed by New York State alleging it operated without proper registration in the state.
The agreement involves ceasing securities and commodities trading in New York and issuing $16.7 million in cryptocurrency refunds to 177,800 New York investors.
New York Attorney General Letitia James stated that cryptocurrency companies must adhere to the same regulations as financial institutions.
