TechFlow reports, according to Web3 anti-fraud platform Scam Sniffer, that over the past week, around 10 secure wallets lost a total of $2.05 million due to "address poisoning" attacks. The same attacker has stolen approximately $5 million from about 21 victims over the past four months.
Specific cause: The wallet transaction history UI displays only the last four digits of addresses, making recently transacted addresses appear identical. Victims may have copied the attacker-crafted address from the transaction "history" page, resulting in funds being sent to the wrong address.
