TechFlow news — The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has officially announced a closed-door meeting scheduled for November 30, with agenda items including the formulation and settlement of injunction lawsuits, initiation and settlement of administrative proceedings, settlement of litigation claims, matters related to litigation, and other issues concerning review and enforcement procedures.
The crypto community speculates that the SEC may use this closed-door meeting to discuss settlement strategies for recent cryptocurrency-related litigation cases, such as the case against Ripple.
Earlier reports indicated that the SEC and Ripple must reach a settlement by February 12, 2024. It is understood that a key point of contention between the two parties may be a proposed penalty of $770 million against Ripple.
