The investors are working with legal advisors to explore feasible options, though it remains unclear whether they will ultimately file a lawsuit against OpenAI.
It is reported that investors are concerned their hundreds of millions of dollars invested in OpenAI could face catastrophic losses.
OpenAI is controlled by its non-profit parent organization, OpenAI Nonprofit, which was established with the mission "to benefit humanity, not OpenAI investors." As such, employees hold greater influence than venture capital firms.
Microsoft holds 49% of OpenAI, while other investors and employees collectively hold another 49%, and OpenAI’s non-profit parent holds 2%.
