TechFlow News — Union Labs, a blockchain interoperability developer, has announced the completion of a $4 million seed funding round to build a bridge connecting different Layer 1 and Layer 2 networks using zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs.
The round was co-led by venture capital firms including Galileo, Semantic Ventures, Tioga Capital, and Nascent. Other investors participating in the raise include Lightshift and Chorus One. The funds will be used for hiring and expansion efforts.
Unlike contemporary bridging solutions, Union does not grant special permissions to relayers, ensuring that private keys are not targets for security hacks since they cannot control the protocol. Messages are verified using ZK proofs.
