TechFlow reports that EigenLabs has partnered with NEAR Foundation to build the first "fast finality layer" for Ethereum Layer-2, reducing transaction finality time from minutes to 3–4 seconds and lowering transaction costs by 4,000 times. The testnet is expected to launch in Q1 2024.
This advancement will reduce liquidity fragmentation across Layer-2 networks by improving efficiency, while allowing teams to make independent decisions about the sequencers used to process transactions.
The collaboration will not only benefit projects built on Ethereum but also enhance the bridging experience between NEAR and Ethereum, making cross-chain transactions faster, more secure, and more decentralized.
