TechFlow reports that THORChain has announced on the X platform a node vote is underway to cancel Impermanent Loss Protection (ILP). Previously, it was planned to remove ILP for new deposits starting January 23, while maintaining protection for existing positions.
This change will take effect within 30 days. Liquidity providers (LPs) who do not wish to provide liquidity without ILP should withdraw in time and consider Savers as an alternative option.
If this vote passes, ILP protection for all positions will be immediately and indefinitely lifted. Additionally, nodes have been requested to pause voting for approximately 30 days to give existing LPs sufficient time to adapt to the upcoming changes.
