TechFlow reports that the full-chain interoperability infrastructure MAP Protocol has announced an upgrade to expand its functionality, becoming a Bitcoin Layer 2 solution focused on cross-chain interoperability. This means MAP Protocol serves not only as peer-to-peer infrastructure but also as an extension layer for the Bitcoin network, enabling assets from other blockchains to interact and transact with the Bitcoin network.
The upgrade also strengthens the security of the MAP Protocol network by leveraging Bitcoin's timestamping service to defend against threats such as long-range attacks. Additionally, the BRC-201 protocol has been introduced to enhance liquidity in the BRC-20 token market.
