TechFlow news, according to Coindesk, sources say cryptocurrency exchange Kraken is considering partnering with several leading blockchain technology companies to launch its own Layer 2 network. This move would align Kraken with competitor Coinbase, which earlier this year launched its own Layer 2 network.
Sources revealed that Kraken is evaluating using technologies from firms such as Polygon, Matter Labs, and Nil Foundation as the foundation for the new network. A Kraken spokesperson commented: "We are constantly exploring and addressing new industry challenges and opportunities. At this time, we have no further information to share."
Recently, Kraken added a job posting on its website seeking a "Senior Cryptography Engineer" with "knowledge of modern cryptography, including ZK proofs," whose responsibilities may include "designing and implementing Layer 2 solutions."
