TechFlow news, according to Decrypt, multiple affected employees have confirmed that Ava Labs, the development company behind Avalanche, laid off the majority of its staff on Monday. While the exact scale of the layoffs at Ava Labs has not been confirmed, the cuts have already impacted the company's communications and marketing teams.
Garrison Yang, VP of Growth and Strategy at Ava Labs, wrote on X on Monday afternoon that the layoffs affected "many people" within the company's marketing department. Another laid-off employee also stated that "many people" were impacted by the cuts.
It remains unclear whether Monday's layoffs affected the company's technical team. However, by all accounts, the scope of the layoffs was so broad that even amid the current harsh crypto bear market, many employees were caught off guard. A former member of Ava's gaming marketing team wrote that he understood Monday's layoffs were part of a larger "restructuring" strategy.
