TechFlow reports that decentralized lending protocol Aave has posted on X, stating it received reports of an issue concerning a feature within the Aave protocol. After verification with community developers, the following temporary precautionary measures have been implemented:
1. Pause the Aave V2 Ethereum market;
2. Suspend certain assets on Aave V2 on Avalanche;
3. Freeze certain assets on Aave V3 on Polygon, Arbitrum, and Optimism.
The team stated that funds in any Aave market are at no risk. Aave V3 markets on Ethereum, Base, and Metis, as well as V2 markets on Polygon and Avalanche, remain unaffected. A governance proposal to restore normal protocol operations will be submitted shortly, and a detailed post-mortem analysis will be published once the issue is fully resolved.
