TechFlow news, according to The Wall Street Journal, Google has pledged another $2 billion investment in AI startup Anthropic. Sources familiar with the matter said that Google has already fronted $500 million and will disburse the remaining $1.5 billion over time.
Earlier this year, Google Cloud signed a multi-year deal worth more than $3 billion with Anthropic. Anthropic plans to use most of these funds to train its AI systems, such as its AI assistant Claude, aiming for the next major breakthrough in the AI industry.
On September 25, Amazon announced it would invest up to $4 billion in AI startup Anthropic.
Founded in 2021, Anthropic raised $124 million in Series A funding in 2021 and secured $580 million in Series B funding in 2022 led by FTX founder SBF.
